China-UK Research Centre for AI Ethics and Governance was funded in Oct, 2019. The research centre is jointly established between CASIA and the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence of Cambridge. 

The establishment of the joint research centre is to encourge collaboration between researchers from China and the UK on AI ethics and governance. The goal is to build an interdisciplinary and inter institutional research center, integrating eastern and western academic ideas, facing the comprehensiveness of artificial intelligence ethics, risk and governance, and integrating natural science and social science
