On December 2rd, IEEE has issued the name list of 2017-2018 IEEE Region 10 Executive Committee Position. Associate Prof. DONG Jing, from Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA), has been appointed as Women in Engineering (WIE) Coordinator of IEEE Region 10 Executive Committee 2017-2018. Prof. Jing Dong has become the first and youngest Chinese female researcher to take the charge, who the opportunity to shape and coordinate the future of WIE in the respective sections, areas, technical societies and chapters within IEEE Region 10.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organization. There are more than 420,000 IEEE members in over 160 countries. IEEE has published one third of the world’s technical literatures in electrical engineering, computer science, and electronics and it is a leading developer of international standards that underpin many of today's telecommunications, information technology, and power-generation products and services. IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is one of the largest international professional organizations dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists, and inspiring female scientists around the world to follow their academic interests in engineering career.
Dr. Jing Dong is currently an associate Prof. in the Center for Research on Intelligent Perception and Computing, CASIA. As a senior member of IEEE and a volunteer, she has also served as the IEEE R10 Electronic Communications & Information Management Coordinator (2011-2012), the WIE Chair of IEEE Beijing Section (2015-2016) and the IEEE MGA VTools committee member(2016-2017), who gets involved in many related activities in IEEE.
