Research on the Key Technology of Complex Surface Texture Acquisition and 3D Reconstruction
Abstract: Measuring object reflectance model and 3D reconstruction are important in both Computer Vision and Computer Graphics. The photos captured by normal camera are often influenced by the illuminations. Once the texture is acquired, it is hard for us to analyze it without influence of known illuminations. Thus, the method of acquiring the true texture of the objects is very important. In previous studies, researchers ignored the weakening of light transmission and assumed the parameters are isotropy. They used low-order Spherical Harmonic (SH) light source to estimate the reflectance model which always resulted in obvious errors. At the same time, those methods cannot be used in acquiring the texture of transparent objects. In this proposal, we propose to adopt Spatially Varying Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function for the reconstruction and use a special device to generate the high-order SH light. Specular and diffuse response can be effectively separated by this high-order light source. Besides, our method can improve the incomplete lighting from single view-point and compensate the light weakening during transmission. We will solve the problems left by pervious works such as it is hard to acquire surface texture if the objects have high specular reflectance or transparent. And we expect that our project will obtain a more accurate reflection model and 3D reconstruction result.
