CASIA Research Team Wins 2nd State Technological Invention Award

The research team headed by Prof. TIAN Jie of Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of sciences (CASIA) received the second-class State Technological Invention Award (STIA) for the project entitled “Multi-Modality Optical Molecular Imaging System for Small Animal” on Jan. 14, 2011.

The project is capable of providing high resolution, high sensitivity optical images that contribute to the detailed research of small animals. It has been awarded 23 patents and various prizes.

In addition, the project has yielded over 60 papers indexed by international journals. And online platforms including MITK、3DMed and MOSE have been established on it, which attracted subscribers from more than 70 countries with about 20,000 downloads.

The research achievements have realized technology transfer and been widely adopted in the field of biomedicine.

STIA is under the State Science and Technology Awards which was initiated by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. It aims to reward citizens and organizations that have made outstanding contributions in scientific and technological progress activities.
