Resume

Shiming Xiang received the B.S. degree in mathematics from Chongqing Normal University, China, in 1993; the M.S. degree from Chongqing University, China, in 1996; and the Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, in 2004. From 1996 to 2001, he was a Lecturer with the Huazhong University of Science and Technology,Wuhan,China. He was a postdoctorate with the Department of Automation,TsinghuaUniversity,Beijing,China, until 2006. He is currently an Associate Professor with theInstituteofAutomation,ChineseAcademyof Sciences.

Academic Achievement

His current research mainly focuses on Image Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning and their applications. He was awarded “Best paper award honorable mention” in PAKDD 2007.
